Day 1

San Jose arrival – transfer to hotel in Central Valley

Welcome to Costa Rica! Your itinerary starting point is San Jose International Airport. Our representative will escort you through the airport and introduce you to your private driver. If you have a car rental, hotel shuttle, booked transportation on your own, or a reservation for a local flight, our airport concierge will guide you to the relevant location.

Private transfer

We’ll be waiting for you outside the airport for your private transfer. Your driver will assist with your luggage and ensure you’re comfortable for the journey. Along the way, you’re welcome to stop for meals, snacks, bathroom breaks, or photos, or head straight to your destination if you prefer.

Your transfer includes: private transportation from airport to door, a personal driver, and bottled water.
Duration: Direct drive time is approximately 25 minutes without breaks.

Day 2

Organic coffee tour at Finca Rosa Blanca

Situated at a perfect elevation for coffee growing and a world away from the hustle and bustle of San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica, Finca Rosa Blanca offers an in-depth tour of the coffee farm, the processing plant and the roasting house. Enthusiastic guides will share their extensive knowledge on how organic coffee is grown, cared-for, harvested, processed, and roasted to produce some of the world’s best coffee beans. You will learn about coffee through the ages and Costa Rican Coffee history, and you will become skilled at discerning the fine quality of the freshly roasted Finca Rosa Blanca coffee at a “catación” or cupping session.

Day 3

Finca Rosa Blanca – El Silencio Lodge

Day 4

Del Toro Waterfall Hiking Tour

Enjoy a natural masterpiece! A staggering 400-foot drop cascades onto an extinct volcanic crater, trimmed by a broad multicolored canyon where shades of red clay blend with green moss and dense vegetation. A winding trail takes you to the very bottom to enjoy exciting close-ups of the roaring mist.

Day 5

Chocolate Tour

Become a savvy chocolatier! A former cocoa bean plantation embedded in the thick tropical forest of the nearby Sarapiqui basin sets the stage for a delightful (and delicious) adventure. A guided hike is followed by a thorough, hands-on chocolate-making session. From cracking open the cocoa fruit, to hand grinding and adding your favorite extra ingredients, the process is thoroughly explained and peppered with fun historical tidbits about the “food of the gods”. Perfect for kids and every adult’s inner child.

Coffee Tasting Tour

Costa Rica’s privileged climate and topography yields the world’s best and most complex coffee varieties. Learn about the fascinating history of coffee’s introduction to Costa Rica and its surprisingly far-reaching social, cultural, and economic impact. This is followed by a coffee lovers’ dream tasting session featuring selected varieties, including premium samples from the highlands that trim El Silencio Lodge & Spa. Become a coffee expert, understanding how altitude, the soil’s mineral content, shade level, rainfall index, and brewing method impact acidity, body, and flavour.

Day 6

San Jose Airport – Puerto Jimenez: Sansa Airlines

Take a short flight to your destination, flying over Costa Rica’s most beautiful scenery. There is a 30lb checked luggage + 10 lb carry-on weight allowance per passenger, taxes and gas fees included. Excess baggage charge is $1 per lb over. All flights operate with Cessna Grand Caravan 208B Aircraft – Approved by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Please note that all passengers must be at the airstrip 45 minutes prior to the flight departure time.

Private transfer

We’ll pick you up from your accommodations for a private transfer to the airport. Your driver will meet you at checkout, assist with your luggage, and ensure you’re comfortable for the journey. Along the way, you’re welcome to stop for meals, snacks, bathroom breaks, or photos, or head straight to the airport if you prefer. Your transfer includes: door-to-airport private transportation, personal driver, and bottled water.

Duration: Direct drive time is approximately 2 hours without breaks.

Day 10
